I'm curious as to if GSM is going to be making the Espada G-10 model in the large size. I have the XL Espada in G-10 just wanting something a little more carry friendly. I've looked around and they are kind of scarce. I've got the Large Espada in the fancy version just wanting the G-10 model to Edc. Thanks,

I would say yes for sure. Don’t overpay, just wait and get yourself a brand new one from an AD. If you want, and what I did for some other CS items I wanted that eventually came in, you can make a pre order at Knife Center, to lock in the price. It’s okay to mention them here (I hope) so figured I would give the heads up. Typically if they are accepting pre orders it means Cold Steel will eventually have more on the way for their dealers.
They are also in the 2022 Catalog still if that is any indication that it is still in production. I am aware that they haven’t gotten in several of their bowies in 3V yet so take that for what it’s worth. Hope that helps. Cheers

PS they also said the XL Espadas were supposed to be back in December to someone who called their customer service and specifically asked. I can’t confirm the source but... They did come back but I don’t think until a few days ago (XL, G10 model) so their prediction was off give or take a month or two

Juan I totally agree! I would get 2 in the DLC version if they still had them, with black hardware. I never picked up a fully ‘blackout’ model. It’d be cool to get some with other color scales as well, like they used to do. Some OD, Coyote, etc. with the DLC. Man. It’s such a beautiful knife and it carries so well in the sizes I have (Large and XL) but what I wouldn’t do for a medium and maybe a couple in different colors. I hope you’re listening, Cold Steel!

You're right and DLC Espadas in all sizes and in diverse color scales would be amazing for both EDC and collecting. Unfortunately this type of venture was feasible in the era of a visionary like Lynn Thompson but I think it is very difficult for a soulless conglomerate like GSM to have the imagination or the interest to carry something like this out. Hopefully I'm wrong and they give us a pleasant surprise. If so I will be first in line to buy.

I've been looking at pictures of the fancy large Espada. There are no screw holes on the left hand side of the knife for left-hand pocket carry. But on a G10 model it's ambidextrous. That's why I bought the g-10 model but who knows in this atmosphere with the future may bring

I've got the Fancy Espada in S35Vn but like mentioned I'd rather have the Espada with the rough scales versus the smooth one I have. I do have the XL Espada in the rough G-10 and it's nice. I'll keep looking, I guess. Thanks Folks.
If you want the rougher texture, you'll have to buy an older model on the secondary market (this includes the colored handles). The AUS 10A versions (even pre-buyout) all have the smoother G-10. Personally, I find the smooth G-10 much more pocket-friendly and therefore easier to carry. But the rough G-10 offers a more secure grip. It's a bit of a trade off.

The Large Espada is one of my all-time favorite folding knives (of any brand). In my opinion, the design modifications over the years--flat grind, DLC, higher-end steels, etc.--have only made it better.

Well, what I meant to say was a Large Espada Aus10 version with the rough G-10. I wouldn't turn down and older version though. I just acquired a XL Talwar in aus-10 with the roughed-up G-10 and would like the large Espada with the same scales to compare to. I do believe I prefer the Espada as well, but I guess I'll decide when I get my hands on one. Thanks,
