Looking for what I describe in the title.... I've heard about Renaissance Wax, but having a tough time finding out whether it's safe for blades used to cut food.

Any help? Thanks!

Mineral oil works just fine for me and I have tidal salt water on three sides of my neighborhood, 4 blocks away at most.

You couldn't pay me to eat renwax, lol.

I can not pronounce half the ingredients in Ren Wax, if I can't pronounce it I won't eat it. I use a 50-50 bee's wax and olive oil mix on all my carbon outdoor blades, food safe and rust preventative. I also use it as a boolit lube and gun grease on my muzzleloaders.

i use something similar, organic bees wax and USP grade mineral oil, food safe and cheap. by changing the ratio, you can get a compound you like. with a brand name product, the manufacturer spent more on the bottle and the label than he did on ingredients.
