No idea what to do with this. When I pull the starter cord it simply won't pull at all. Like its frozen in place. Any ideas?

Sounds like the rope came off the pulley and is Jamed underneath you will have to take it apart and rewind it hope this helps.

It could be a lot of things upto and including a seized engine. BUT, assuming everything was fine last time you used it, it's probably just something simple. Start from that presumption. My guess is that the rope just got tangled up last time. Take the cover off and you'll see the problem. Often the easiest solution in these cases is to just cut the rope out and replace it altogether.

can you turn the blade by hand? that will tell you a few things.... but make sure the throttle is off, and maybe pull the sparkplug first, hate to have you spin start a mower and loose your fingers.

Yep, everyone's right so far. Assuming it worked before, it could be the cord fell off tack, or the break cable is not fully disengaging the engine break.

Depending on the make and model, I can pretty much walk you through a full engine and carb rebuild, so this problem should be to hard to fix. Small engines are kinda a hobby of mine. Please let me know if you still are having issues with it.
