Hey guys I threw my top belt on my 14" delta, I had just gotten it from a buddy for free but had to get new guides for it and a few other parts (which probably cost as much as a used one lol) and replaced the bottom tire with a urethane one. Didnt think the top was that bad but whoever put the rubber ones on didnt glue them and it lifted and got cut up while I was sawing out some blocks.

I was curious if anyone has ever used leather for the tires before. I have heard about it and I have plenty of leather and know how I would go about doing it but not sure if they would last or work alright. The wheels are crowned so wouldnt have to worry about that.

I just need to finish getting some blocks cut out because I want to send them off for stabilizing tomorrow but without a bandsaw it would be very difficult to process a smaller burl I have.

I know this isnt a bandsaw forum per say but thought this was the best place for this, maybe it needs to be moved but not sure.
Thanks for any input.

Thanks Patrick, thats actually a good idea. Went ahead and ordered some tires. I tried the leather and I think it wasnt taking to the crown as it should have, I got it to track for a while but then it started losing it. Ill just have to wait to get them in. I think it would be a viable option if I had more time to play with it. Ahh well live and learn.
