Leatherman Blast or Rebar.... how do you like yours

I'm thinking seriously about getting a Blast or the new Rebar.

Does anyone have either of these ? How do you like yours ?

I've done some research on both. They're priced within a few $$ of each other with a lot of the same tools and weigh about the same.

Any comments.
 
I have a Rebar, and it's a good tool. To me, it feels like a modern PST. Nice and light, good tools, etc. I switch between the Rebar and a Spirit.
 
I've got the Blast, which I love. Great selection of tools. But I really would love to try the Rebar since I love the Supertool 300 on which it's just a smaller version of.

Good comparison, I believe. My first thought when the Rebar was introduced was that this was the PST I had always yearned for. In a compact format, it has every implement I want except scissors, but pairing my Rebar with a Style CS or Micra takes care of that while providing a few extra tools. I have no experience with the Blast, so I can't comment on that.

I got a Blast with a leather sheath in excellent condition in an auction for $25.00 including shipping on the Bay.

The least expensive new Rebar with a sheath was $48 including shipping on the Bay.
 
Being a good hoarder, I have both. In both stainless and black oxide. They are similar MTs, though they have different personalities. The Blast has the Kick bloodline, whereas the Rebar is the spawn of the Supertool 300. These bloodlines give the Rebar just a slight superiority complex, and it also has the replaceable cutters. But in terms of size, weight and functionality, they are similar.
 
I got my Blast yesterday. It was advertised as being in excellent condition on the bay. I got it for $25 including shipping.

It's nib....I spent quite a bit of time moving the handles and folding it up to make it useable......

The Rebar is next on my list but it was $23 more than my Blast when I got my Blast.


I have an older version Wave and a KF4 around the house someplace too.....I hid them to keep my step-daughters boyfriend from taking them. I can't find the

anywhere. WHY did I even hide them ????
