The Wave has been kind of my MT for years but I’m thinking of upgrading to the titanium Charge+.

Anybody have any comparison thoughts or even experiences, good or bad, with the Titanium model?

The weight specs seem to reflect there is zero benefit there. I think every site lists random wrong weights for these things anyway.

I have owned a bunch of each of those. I have given up on the Wave+'s because I find them too slick/slippery and uncomfortable. I really like the upgraded steel in the Charge and the smoother operation of the blades. I think that the Charge series has phosphorus washers making for smoother operation.

With that said, I have gone all in on the Charge with G10 scales. I find them more comfortable in hand, way less slippy and I like the bright colors for finding them when laid down. I have a few orange and a few red versions.

^^ Does the Charge G10 version(s) come with S30V or 154? The pictures show S30V on the main blade but the specs say 154..

Dang - crazy sale on the Orange right now from LM’s site, but big A’s got the red one which I’d prefer. …Of course.

Have you had any issues with the scales loosening and moving around when squeezed at all?

I have one for sale in the forum sales section. I think you can see the blade steel marking in one of the photos.

I have the charge titanium and like it, but also got it for a hefty discount when it first came out. I'd get the G10 version now if I was looking.

Orange is sold out in LM site.

Sold out.

No issues yet. And if they do, I'll send it back for replacement.

I have a charge plus and wave plus. There is a difference in tools and steels used on the main blade. However, if one only had a wave plus you'd be fine. The charge plus in titanium weighs a good amount at least in the pocket vs the wave, so I only carry it more in the cooler weather.

The safety hook, package opener, gut hook tool on the charge is magnificent though as the wave does not have this. Very useful to save the edge on the main blade, and the charge ti also should still come with the bit kit which I love having but rarely change out from Phillips and flathead.

Practically, it is just as good as the Wave unless the strap cutter on the blade is important to you. But, the quality feels much higher and having both, my Wave never gets carry or use

I am, or have been, in the very same situation as you. The Wave has been my go-to LM, I still appreciate it. Now I have switched to the Charge Plus, and own the Orange, Red, and TTI version, the latter being my new carry.

The orange G10 looks very attractive I got to say, albeit looks perhaps prone to braking, as the G10 is a rather thin scale "slab"? No evidence of that, just a cautionary observation.

The TTI was 150 bucks at REI during their 20% off sale, and is a great value; compared to for example the flimsy Bugout which is about that now, too, and is, well, just a knife.

FWIW, the cutting hook is the best cable tie cutter I have come across on a multi purpose tool. A major plus for me.
