hi,

Is the juice xe6 still compact enough to carry in your jeans pocket? opinions reviews on the tool or experiences with it are welcome.

greetings,

Mike

It's a bit thick to carry comfortably in the pocket. I would suggest the leather clip-on sheath, it's really unobtrusive that way, and you can carry it either open or closed with the leather sheath as opposed to the plastic snap sheath. I actually like the Juice Pro version of the XE6, it adds a foil cutter which you can use as a serrated hawkbill blade for scraping chores and a tiny pair of tweezers. It was sold exclusively through Costco, but appears to have been discontinued. If you need a lot of light duty tools the XE6 or Pro version get's my vote. For heavier chores, the Swisstool is a better bet.

IMO, only the two smallest models (S2 and C2) are comfortable in a front pocket. When I carry a larger model (Kf4), I carry it vertically in my back pocket or in the clip-on sheath that Marcangel mentioned. The Xe6 is even larger.

This is my favorite line of light-duty tools. I carry an S2 at work.

I carry a XE6 on my belt with the leather pouch at work and in my luggage or knapsack when travelling or hiking. I've tried carring it in my pocket and have to sadly say that it is too bulky and heavy for this type of carry to be comfortable. But everyone is different and it may not be so for you. Maybe the CS 4 or S 2 may be better for pocket carry as they are lighter and less bulky (less tools though). Their Squirts would fit in a jeans pocket nicely but they were just too small to be practical.

The Juice series have quite a functional pair of pliers and I like using them at work where I have to work with 22-28 gauge wire. Some others like their Waves equally. The Leatherman's are all that I see at work, Juices or Waves. One guy had a first generation Gerber multi-tool but the pliers weren't that functional and he wound up giving it to his brother in law and buying a Wave. I've used every tool on my XE 6 other than the file which is why I'd consider a S 2 or CS 4 if I had to replace it. Do you have a retailer near by so that you can actually try it in your pocket?

Well, its not a bad idea to test the tool in my pocket and i 'm going to do this when going to the knifestore this weekend.

people--> keep on coming with the opinions :)

greetings mike

I have 2 modes of carry for my Juice. One is the plastic belt clip thingy. The other is the little watch pocket on my jeans. It's comfertable to carry, but it makes it a little hard to get my hand out of my pocket sometimes.

I prefer the leather sheath. It's one of the only (if not the only) multi tools that I can carry on my belt without it poking me uncomfortably in the side.

purely in the interest of being able to reply to this thread i went out and got a juice cs4. the wife thinks i just wanted another knife, but i believe i have convinced her of my humanitatian objective. ;) anyway, i've used and carried in the front pocket of my scrub pants without and problems. my edc is usually a vic ranger in thr right front and a lm sideclip in the right rear of the waistband. if i can carry it in scubs, jeans are no problem!

also, the mini screwdriver by victorinox will fit the corkscrew on the leatherman tools!

Funny....I went out to the knife store to 'prove' my post and wound up buying a Wave.

Hello
I think thah the juice xe6 is for carry in the the leather sheath or in a bag.
You can view a comparative of thickness with other LM tools.

well, i toted the cs4 in my jeans today (friday is jeans day at my clinic). it carried well in the back pocket, but it was to thick for my tastes in the change pocket of my brand of jeans. the xe6 appears to be as thick or thicker. on the plus side, it didn't seem too heavy. ymmv.

Originally, I purchased a Juice Pro at Costco. the JP is way too big for pockect carry, but has the most tools. I now keep the JP in my pack, fatboy, or locked in my desk drawer. I bought the CS4 about six months ago, and it is perfect in a front pockect, or back pocket. The CS$ is my EDC pocket tool. I too have a Victorinox mini screwdriver in the corkscrew.
