So I have started carrying a PST 2. I was carrying a Wave with the bit kit and extender and while I really like it, it was rather bulky and overkill. I carry a Case Texas Jack for my knife so the PST 2s combo blade is a good back up.

While the PST 2 does dig in my hand it is not that bad and way better then when the Waves blades pinching my hand. I am liking the change so far. One other thing I notice is that I actually like the tool clumping as it makes it easier to access some of the tools. The Waves scissors can be really hard to get out at times. Anybody else carrying a PST or PST 2?

I carried a PST and PST II for years, starting in the early 90s, when I worked as a mechanic, but when I transitioned to office work in the 2000s I stopped carrying it and lost track of it for awhile.
Recently came across my PST II and after a quick cleaning, and a new nylon sheath, I've been carrying every day again for the last month or so.

I've never tried any other Leatherman tool so I can't comment on one versus the other.

I carried a PST for a good 6 months or so and I do quite like it, but ended up going back to my faithful old fuse, then went to a bond when it was released.

I like the overall size and layout of the PST for sure, but the awl #2 driver and can opener fall way short for me.

Really it's the 10000× superior awl, improved #2, and added wire stripper of the more recent stuff that I prefer.
I will say that the actual can opener on my 1996 PST completely blew me away the couple times I had to use it.

The rolled edges of the bond or nylon inserts on my fuse are a nice improvement, but I can live without those things if I have to.

You'll loose a couple from the PST2 because it's like an updated version of the PST, but you might want to check out the Bond if it's back in stock.

The PST II is definitely my favorite multi tool. Great, useful tools for its size. Great scissors and a nice diamond file that can be used to sharpen knives. Sure, there are bigger and stronger multi tools, but I leave them behind because of their bulk.
