Never handled the Skeletool, but this fad for BO is way over my head. Unless for military or police purposes, the only thing to be gained is that it becomes harder to find the tool if dropped or misplaced. That can only be a benefit if you decide the Wave is not the tool for you and are looking for an excuse to replace it with something else. Otherwise, why pay extra money to get blacking on your hands?

I got them both. I carry the skeletool cx in my front left pocket and sometimes even forget its there. It got decent pliers, flat and philips bits and a 154cm blade wich i find usefull for my daily tasks. I also carry my Wave in leather skinth with bit kit in my bag. The Wave is more bulky and doesnt have pocket clip wich you can by seperatly. Of course the Wave offers more tools but I rarely find myself needing a saw in an urban/office enviroment. Another plus for Skeletool is that just a cool looking tool. It all depends on how much tools you will use. Ofcourse you can also consider getting a Sidekick or Wingman wich are lighter then Wave, comes with pocket clip and offers more tools then Skeletool.
Hope that helps you.

The Skeletool CX really wowed me when I got it. It's a very clean and well made tool. I EDC a Super Tool 300 for work, but the Skeletool is what I pack when I want to carry more than a pocket knife without all the bulk of a full size tool. I have never been able to warm up to the Wave.
