Leatherman Surge & Pocket clip

Has anybody tried to put a pocket clip on the leatherman surge? Mine doesn't seem to fit right. I have one side with the lanyard ring i can push up, and one side that's empty, where the clip goes. Will it fit better if i cut the lanyard ring out and put it on that side?

Mine was always loose, but it never fell off or came out of my pocket.
I think it was just a poor design.

Mine can be pushed over to the other side (handle). Sucks!

I've never tried it on the surge but I've heard it works. I have one on my wave and it has no play at all and it works great, it carries very deep.

Mine, too. Never a problem.

Mine was as loose as the proverbial goose , but never failed me . I found it to be a good tool , just not worth the weight penalty .
