Leki walking cane?

What with all the miles on my chassis, I'm starting to use a Leki walking stick sometimes. This is the model. http://shop.leki.com/en/product.php?product_id=50725

Under the rubber tip is a blunt metal tip that has a concave end.

Has anybody taken one of these through TSA security at an airport? I'm concerned that some overzealous TSA person might manage to remove the rubber tip, declare that the staff was a weapon and not let me on the plane with it.

Or am I just being crazy?

I've used a Leki when flying. I've been detained for additional screening twice-because of the Leki.

However I've always eventually passed through. If you're a senior and it's obvious your using it as a cane...TSA has to pass you.

Ski poles are NOT permitted. So make sure you've got the Leki telescoped down to a cane height.

Use it to walk up to the check point.
