I already have a Swiss Army Huntsman for edc and Im thinking of getting a Leatherman Juice s2. Should I just stick with my SAK or should I upgrade to the Leatherman? If I decide to not get a juice I will probably downgrade to a climber because i dont really need a saw.

The Leatherman has an advantage of having pliers..... but the tools on it are slightly smaller than the SAK. |
Personally, I would buy it, because I have found the pliers on my Juice are very useful during the day.
Leatherman also has their very nice warranty, to consider.

I edc'd a Huntsman for about 20 years straight. Then I switched to pliers-based multitools; I went through many of the Leathermans and finally settled on a Victorinox Spirit multitool. If you like SAKs and also want to try a pliers multi, this is the best of both worlds!

I carried a Leatherman for many years and found it to become almost a neccessity esspecialy because of the pliers. You just don't know how important they become until you don't have them. I recently started carrying the Leatherman Wave, and I really like that as well. I also carry a second EDC folder which is Usually my Gerber FAST or Buck Cross Lock.

I've got a couple Huntsmans and a Juice S2. I like them both, but perfer the S2 overall. I like having the pliers and real phillips driver. I do like having the saw and tweezers on the Huntsman though. While the Juice is a little heavier, it's thinner and more pocketable for me.

I'd pack the S2 hands down, but then again maybe this would be a good time for you to visit the Skeletool. That might be your best bet.

Cheers,
Serge

i would buy the juice s2. trust me those pliers and the different screw sizes comes in handy. i used to carry a SAK climber and there were times i needed small screw drivers..... i ended up using the toothpick. get the juice s2 you wont regret it.

I have both and carry the Juice C2 on my belt in a sheath daily. The SAK Huntsman lives in a box on my desk and is almost never carried. Here's an example of why.

The other day I was doing some maintenance on our Swamp Cooler pads and noticed a hex-head screw (no screw slot in head) had come loose. I took my C2 out of it's sheath and used the pliers to tighten the screw. Had I had the Huntsman with me instead of the C2 I'd have had to climp down the ladder, walk all the way back to my shop for pliers or a wrench, walk all the way back to the Swamp Cooler, climb the ladder and tighten the hex-head screw. The pliers included with the C2 make all the difference and all the tools are sizeable enough to handle most jobs encountered.

And don't let that corkscrew on the C2 put you off. If you ever encounter a knot that you just can't untie with your fingers and teeth, that corkscrew will have it un-tied in no time with no damage to the laces, rope, or whatever the knot is tied in. It has other uses too but you'll discover those on your own after having used it for some time.

The C2 is not bulky at all and carries in a pocket nicely in case you don't like a sheath on your belt.

I like having the corkscrew for taking out knots too. Thats why i have the huntsman instead of the fieldmaster. But i like having a scissors more than having a corkscrew.
