You and me both. Nothing wrong with the skinny, but the standard one is just a perfect match for mh hands.
As if we don't have enough XM options - I wonder what a skinny blade in a standard frame would feel like? Might be the ultimate XM. I actually think it would have been a good idea to call the Skinny's "XS", Standard's stay "XM" and Fatty's be "XF" - would shorten the names a lot.
Then you could go full mongo and offer, for example, XF Skinny (fatty scales w' skinny blade), XS Fatty (skinny scales fatty blade), or my desired XM Skinny (standard scales w' skinny blade).
We are very excited to introduce the newest Hinderer Half Track Wharnie. These are the prototypes that were mailed to us. We will have these available in many different G10 colors in Working Finish and Stonewashed Finish this weekend and on Monday. We hope you will check them out!
I am getting mixed info so I figured I would ask the experts here - does the gen 6, 3.5" fatty use the same scale thickness as the standard xm-18 3.5"?
Yes, at least for my Gen 5 (normal) and Gen 6 Fatty Wharnies, the scales are inter-changeable. Not with the Skinny XM18 though.
I have that exact same configuration. Battle Anthracite has to be my favorite Hinderer finish. Mine now sports smooth CF scales and polished PB washers. I have several Gen 6 Hinderers, but still love my old Gen 4. It's broken in, finely tuned and a dream to flip...so smooth.
I always wanted to try out polished PB washers but never got around to it because it flipped nicely already on nylons...might have to get some PB washers to try out now. Appreciate the input!
Question: from a used knife, I have a steel-flame clip, a brass skull attached to the titanium clip end ... from looking closely, seems I can see a brass seam. Anybody know how these are attached ? Soldered, hard soldered, welded ? Just wondering. Thanks.
