Lets see your ESEE mods!

Here are my two modified Izulas.
One has my self made micarta scales, the other Olive wood scales with reflective tape on the spine of handle. :D

These wood handles were made by Randy "MArathonman" here on the forums. They are perfect additions to my 4 and 6

Wow, these are the nicest mods on Esee;s I've ever seen. Great job guys. I wish i had the guts to try it on mine without messing them up.

Damn you guys with your stripped and patina'd Izzys. Now I gotta make time to break out my Jasco and mustard.

I might get crucified for this, but I cut ALOT of rope for work.
HEST with serrations(I need to add a few more) and modified pry bar, homemade textured micarta. I figured I'd just say goodbye to the warranty

A 4 with textured g-10, I beat the hell out of this knife, working this weekend. It was a champ, but I think I need a 3 now.

Gotta say I'm very impressed with the finish on these things.

Anyone try liquid shoe polish for dying micarta scales? I'm snowed in and bored, thinking up some projects. For those that have used Rit dye, how's it holding up to use?

When the RC-4 first came out, I could only find the serrated version. After I had it a while, I ground off the serrations, but it looked messed up. So I stripped the blade and gave it a convex recurve grind. I made it a bit more pointy, too. Then I thought it looked ok. It cuts great.

hmm try better guys, beat these mods;
Not to sure if Shon brought them or Jeff/Mike but I was stunned at some of the reckless stuff people do and then want a new blade..... I guess it is a small percentage of returns but I seen 'em :eek: :confused:

Not pic-worthy... I don't even know if it would show up, but on my Izula, right below the start of the edge, there is a natural notch - I enlarged that just a hair with a serration file to make a "mouth" for a striker with a firesteel. This keeps my edge from getting munged, and keeps the ferro rod from sliding around.

originally i just modded the scales

after a lot more use the finish was pretty beat so i stripped it and dyed the scales black and made a leather sheath for it.
