What do you carry with your multitool in your leatherman accessory sheath ?

For me the full sized multitool has mostly become a work only thing the past few years, and in that environment theres a few things that are handy to keep on me.
In a recent decision to downsize the bulk on my belt I ordered an accessory pocket sheath for my new bond and it has been working out great.

Nothing too crazy here

Multitool
Flashlight
4" adjustable
Bit ratchet
Bent piece of wiper insert for general picking/ probing tasks .

I chose a bit ratchet over an adapter and bit kit because I have other bit and driver types in my toolbox that I rarely use, and I do sometimes need a driver on each end of a fastener.
Plus it's a ratchet and the thumb wheel is nice, just a #2 and 1/4 in it because that's all I really need.

This one is a power torque from O'riley's if you're interested, but they're all about the same and probably from the same Taiwanese factory.

I like the ratchet, going to be considering that, but will definitely be adding a piece of wire. I keep a couple of 3mm magnets to lightly magnetize my bits and pick up dropped screws. I keep two because two will pick up a set of keys.

The topeak version was once the most common option, but it's around $40 because it comes in a bike tool kit.
The same exact tool is now available for $14 from o'Reillys. Part # GM4315

I used to carry my Wave in the leather sheath with the single accessory slot for the bit extender, but it was destroyed when I fell off my bike in college. The Leatherman and sheath absorbed some of the impact with the sidewalk (and transferred the rest into a nice bruise on my side). The Wave was fine, but the snap on the sheath was so flattened from the impact that I had to cut the sheath apart to extract the Wave. I've since found that I prefer the look and feel of Leatherman's "heritage" sheaths.

I can’t post pics on this site but mine holds a Rebar and a Vic Rambler for scissors in the main compartment, an adapter and bits in the rear sleeve, a Thrunite Ti3 AAA flashlight in the left elastic holder and a Fisher Bullet Space Pen in the right elastic holder.

Use an image hosting site and you can.

I’ve had this skinth sheath for a while now and have carried it constantly. Excellent piece of gear which has held up extremely well so far. I carry it horizontally on the front of my belt next to the buckle.

It houses my leatherman surge with full bit kit, a mini pry bar (which is pretty much useless but I still carry for some reason), leatherman ratchet extension, a mini sharpie and olight i3e that I stuck in just today. There’s room for plenty more in the sheath and it’s never full but has tons of capability for whatever I may need, essentially a little portable tool kit, and the surge is the ultimate leatherman as far as tool set if you ask me.

When I started carrying this setup and my dad saw it he called me “mr gadget”, which he still says sometimes. I thought it was pretty funny, but I do like being prepared. It comes in handy pretty much every day.

Skinth...I second the motion! Mine was a Christmas present that took 5 weeks to arrive from the time I ordered it, because they only build it once you have placed your order. I get the most out of my Surge, because I always have all the accessories close by. BTW, because I am traveling, I swapped out my spare 380 magazine for the SOG Crissgrip. I added the short tassels to the Surge and the flashlight to make them easier to grab and pull out of the sheath.

I think this model is called the "Skinth Plus" and is made in Canada. Check out their website. T-A

Paul, I’ll assume in your line of work it makes life easier if you have those things handy.

Yes. It saves me from many trips to the truck to get a tool.

Even when I’m not working it makes life much easier. Yesterday I was getting some parts at the auto salvage and needed a socket I didn’t have, so I used the leatherman and it saved the day as usual.

Once you’ve had one skinth other sheaths (except nice leather ones) just don’t do it for you. I got another skinth for my rebar.

This should be a good little setup; rebar with the bit kit that adapts to the phillips driver, mini sharpie, and a vic ambassador that rounds out a couple tools the rebar doesn’t have.
