I love multitools and they have their place and I carry one at work every day.

When I'm not at work however my needs don't justify carrying a multitool , I feel naked without having something on me but it doesn't have to be much because I've got tools everywhere.

I love my little Sebertool m2 & M4 multitools, but I have really gotten used to my Snapon 44acf 4 inch slipjoint pliers.
I really love these pliers, I wish it had cutters and if I could I'd like a flush pivot but otherwise they're excellent.

I know that the mini knipex pliers are the current trend, but I prefer inline jaws.

The only things from a multitool I really feel the need to always have on me are the pliers and a couple drivers so this is what I'm currently carrying.

The screwdriver is a Channellock 21A reversible that I modified by cutting the bit in half because I felt it was a little too long to carry well in my pocket organizer.

These knipex are always in my pocket and as an aussie i say nip-ex. The main use is trimming mig wire but they are very handy because of their size and weight or lack there of.

as an English speaking American I pronounce it the same way, after all we don't say K'nife K'nock or K'now do we ?
Mostly I just refuse because of all the obsessed knipex fans who go around demanding that people " say it right ".

That looks like a great little pair if combination pliers.
I love the ubiquitous Slipjoint pliers that are the standard here in the US, but I also love combination pliers and wish they were as common as they are / were in Europe.

That's funny because I associate slip joint pliers with the useless chrome pair that I got with every tool kit that came with every new motorbike i bought. It wasn't until the age of the internet that I found out there was such a thing as quality slip joint pliers. If I forget my pliers I really do miss not having them.

I think the difference is that they were sold & marketed and of better quality here in the US.
We had many brands and variations, and weren't just stuck with the cheap Honda pliers.
That is kind of what we got for combination pliers though, the cheap Hepewe brand pliers that came with German cars.

Rarely, I carry a leatherman xe6 juice instead of my surge. I consider it my alternative. Today I have it with me simply because I'm wearing glasses (normally wear contacts) and these glasses have a screw that frequently gets loose even with loctite. My juice has a corkscrew eyeglass screwdriver.

you carry these on you instead of a multitool ?
Do you have a particular belt holster or something for them ?
No , not a regular carry .

But if needed for a task in remote area , easy to slip into a pocket or bag .

I can often fix a problem with just this tool . If not , I can at least measure for size of socket wrench etc .

This really works like a wrench as well as pliers and will not ruin a nut or bolt .

The design helps provide leverage to hold the jaws tight . These old hands appreciate it ! ;)

This pouch is always with me. Also have a pocket screwdriver with reversible bit that can clip in the belt pass-thru. I dislike the weight of a traditional multi tool.

This is the contents of my right front pocket.

I started carrying the 150 Cobras about two months ago and they are handy but they, at times struggle on the farm and i often think i would not want a smaller model.
I’m not sure what mine is, it’s not the mini, that is just a couple inches, it’s the one above that but still pocket size

I wear an Arc on my belt so I don't have a pocket full of tools...

😁
And I have a " pocket full of tools " so I can carry a belt knife and keys and whatever else on my belt without looking like a mall cop
At work I do carry my multitool and other tools in a leatherman accessory pocket sheath , plus the stuff I always keep in my pockets already.

Really it's just 3 little tools in my pocket organizer which I'd be carrying regardless of whether I had a multitool on my belt or not, because it's how I carry my pen mini notepad band aids and pocket knife.
