Just back from the day at the Lewisburg knife show, it's growing in size again
and I'd suggest those near enough to give it a look see when you can.
It's held just behind the Country Cupboard Inn off of route 15 in Lewisburg PA

I'll add some images of the few I picked up while there as soon as I get them shot up,

J. Neilson was on hand, looking dapper in his coat ;), Butcher Block aka Butch Harner was also there with some nice knives as well.

A lot of folks on hand, worth the small price of admin in for sure, one knife I was
quite taken with, but was out of my price range but looked to be quite a deal
for the quality that you can easily see, was made by Kirby Bletcher, here's some
shots of his folder, excellent walk and talk, would loved to have taken her home!!

I was lucky to find three knives within the limits of the funds on hand,

a small Parker 2 blade Congress pattern with stag scales and longish bolsters
a VERY rugged Case jigged bone folder, 2 bladed, model is 6231 1/2
the pull on the main blade is substantial, the smaller pen blade not so much
very slight blade play on the smaller one but none on the larger clip point blade.

Also a nice small fixed blade by Ted Moore, a wharncliff blade, very handy size!

I'll add more as I get some photos!

Thanks guys, but as I say, that handsome folder shown isn't mine :(
just got to oogle it a bit and wanted to share what fine work it is.

Will get to posting the ONES I did mangage to afford later on.

That Case 6231 1/2 is one whooper of a knife! that was the type
I went in search for and stumbled upon it, fellow had several knives
that belonged to his father who had past away many years ago and
they decided to turn them into cash, this one caught my eye and
we 'discussed' it for a while and I ended up taking her home.

I also attended the show and had a chance to chat with Butch. Nice guy, crazy knives. He was showing three items that were already spoken for more or less, and three items that seemed to be available. If I had the funds, one of his knives would have come home with me. I was able to speak with many of the makers and sellers that were in attendance. I hope to swing by again tomorrow but that remains to be determined. I held one traditional folder that was outstanding with file work, engraving of a bull elephant on one bolster, beautiful bone handle and was told it was going for $3,000.00.

As G2 mentioned, if you can swing by it is a nice show.

Well, just had a nice email from one of the members, my current avatar is
a bit misleading, an older photo of me I took a long time ago, here's a recent
photo I took for our company quarterly, they had me write up a small article
on my leather work and wanted a photo of me hard at work, so I quickly setup
my 'stuff' and took this shot, with this, some of you may remember seeing me
at the show :)

I'll not be there tomorrow, just a one day drive down from near Elmira NY.

We are all going to have to start wearing signs around our necks. :p

I didn't meet anyone from this forum; just a few guys from AAPK that I already knew.

It was nice to see you at the show. I was the guy with the Krein reground Spyderco Jess Horn. Had I recongnized you, I would have show some of the other knives I had with me. Take care. I'll watch for you next year. :)

Nice! glad to have met you kinda! ;)

Here's some of my knives picked up at the show,

My little stout folder! And both blades are nicely ground to quite a thin edge too!
It's a Case 6231 1/2, a Case XX 6 dot code, which I am lead to understand that
it means it was made back in 1974, back while I was in the Navy :)

Very nice size and the main blade is working in pretty good now, both blades took an exceptional edge.

See next post for the next knife

A vintage Parker, I am guessing was made in 1986 from the date on the blade's etching

A handy size, opening on both blades are not so strong, but they are smallish blades
no blade play on either one, both were in need of a good sharpening, which they did get ;)

And lastly, a little out of the ordinary in looks, but a trusty wharncliff blade that is quite handy

Made by Ted Moore, from Elizabethtown PA

Ok, taking Guesses as to what do you think the scales were made from and I'll give you
a hint, they were not camel bone, nor cow bone, so think a little harder :)
AND folks that were at the Lewisburg show need not try, no fair ;)

Hi Gary! Thanks for posting the pictures of my slip joint and for the kind words regarding my work.
We had a great show as usual in Lewisburg. Its a small show but we always manage to make out
pretty good. Cant wait for next year!

Kirby Bletcher

Kirby, that is a beautiful knife, I'm glad Gary posted it.

Thanks I'm glade you like it! I hope its my first of many. Im thinking of engraving the bolsters. What do you guys think? Should I leave it alone or make it cost more :D

Kirby

I don't know, engraving may compete with the nice ivory, but I'm always
a sucker for engraving, especially celtic knots :)

PS, the scale material on that Ted Moore knife is Sword Fish bill, he had some
cut up and stabilized, makes for a unique scale eh?
