What's better than Friday?? New Knife Friday, or course!

Today I took delivery of my newest toy, Greg Lightfoot's new model called the Suppressor. BG-42 blade, carbon fiber scales, ti bolsters and liners. Fit and finish is very tight, action is crisp, and the edge is wicked sharp. I love the blade shape on this one!

Hey,
I just ordered one of those only last week! Five months to go. I must say, you have very good taste.

It seems that both of you do! Nice (very nice choice).

How are the ergonomics? What is the base price? Do you find it a little small?

Nice little bull of a knife. Looks like lots of blade in that handle.

Thanks for the pic Dexter. I've been talking to Greg about this one lately, I agree, very nice blade style. Dexter, would you happen to have a pic of the Suppressor closed and a pic of the clip side?

Thanks,
Tom

Dennis - Handle eronomics are very good. It's basically the same handle off of his Detonator model. Fits the hand very well and feels secure in the grip. Base price is $475 as pictured. Greg can use damascus for the bolsters and blade. The fancy version IIRC is $650. Oh yeah, all prices are USD. If you check his website, he's got prices for the fancy models of his knives http://www.lightfootknives.com

I think the clip he uses is the CRKT clip. Same Teflon coating and shape as what comes on his L.U.S. folder. It's curvature fits that of the handle and the coating makes it slide on and off the pocket very easy.

That's a great looking knife. I've had the pic of it as a wallpaper on my PC since the first time I saw it on Greg's site.

Dexter,
Very nice. I just took a look at Greg's Webpage. The Damascus Suppresor and LCC are very well done. Someone mentioned his back log in this post, I think it was 6 months? Putting out work like this, I'm suprised it isn't longer. I better get my order in!!!

CCM - Greg's backorder is about 5-6 months. You might want to try going through a purveyor like Les Robertson (Robertson's Custom Cutlery), Jay Sadow (Arizona Custom Knives), or Larry Connelley (KnifeArt.com); one of these may be getting one in soon and you don't have to suffer the agony of a half year wait

Dexter, thanks for posting these pictures. I have a Suppressor on order and it is due in June. Looking at these pictures is keeping me mellow until that happy time. This is one good looking and sturdy knife.

Hey Mr. Ewing,

I appreciate the info you gave me on the Lightfoot post I made in the Custom Knife forum. Since you've had the Suppressor for a few months now, I was hoping you would give us an informal review. Is it your daily carry knife? What kinda cutting have you done? How is the fit and finish holding up? I've got my Lightfoot 460 Magnum and M-1 ordered, I can't wait to get them!

To help the wait pass, I'm trying to start some good Lightfoot discussion!

Thanks,
Chuck
