OK, before I make some kinda chemistry mistake ....

Can I use Teak oil after I treat the wood with Linseed oil (providing a couple days drying time)?

I ran some tests with Goncalo Alves and found I like the appearance best with this combo. The Linseed oil deepens the colors just enough and wood really likes it. I'm hoping the Teak oil will provide better protection.

apparently teak oil isn't a standardised thing. so depends on the brand you are using. it could well just be linseed oil with some wax and varnish added
generally you can apply other finishes over linseed oil. the oil gets into the wood, so surface finishes are usually ok

"Teak Oil" basically means anything people smear on teak decks and stuff worldwide. There was a page out in networld a few years back that collected "teak oils" and analyzed them. One of the most significant and common ingredients was motor oil...

Thanks Alex Topfer Alex Topfer and fitzo fitzo

Wow how vague is that definition! The important part is that basically it's not incompatible with Linseed oil. The 'teak' oil I have seems to soak in even after the linseed and still finishes fine.
