Liquid Nitrogen Price Increase?

I haven't filled my dewar in several months, so I was surprised when the cost of LN2 went from $1.75/ltr to $4.00/ltr. I'm in West Texas, so the oil field might be influencing my cost somewhat. What is everyone else paying? I know the $1.75 was low, but has the price really escalated that markedly?

Thanks,
Lance

I was quoted $10-12 up in NY but then the guy cut the price and gave me 5 liters for free at the register. Even at that I probably paid around $4

Airgas delivers liquid O2 to the hospital I work at and they will fill my dewar there with LN2 for no extra delivery charge. $2 is the current price.

I pay about $4 per liter here in Sweden, if I transport it myself. But I'm lazy (let's call it practical) and get it delivered (they swap an empty dewar for a full one) when I need for about $8 per liter.

Reproductive Enterprises charges me 1.35 a pound for it. Scale weight container and fill usually about $28 on 20 liter bottle.

Yeah, doesn't seem to be any set price. Airgas/National Welders here in Asheville wants like $4 a liter (one of the many reasons I never go there), vs the local/smaller company (Holston Gases) which charges me $65 or so to fill my 50L dewar, along with being cheaper and nicer about everything else, even though I don't ever set up an account with them, and pay cash, which the other place, seems to hate.

I’m sitting right at 3$L. That’s at oxarc and I asked once if the price is the price or is the price cuts on volume. Nope the price is the price. But once thy tryiedto charge me like $4 a liter. I asked did the price go up. No thy said, then why did I pay $3 last time. Oh let me look, yeah it’s $3L lol

Just filled mine at the Airgas in metro Detroit and it was $3.75/ L which is higher than previous times.

$1 per liter in SC at Praxair and they fill it right there. The others wanted around $4.50 and at least one has to send it to another location to fill and send back. Could take 2-3 days.

About $2.30 per liter delivered to my home in San Antonio TX area. Cryo Nitrogen Services LLC. I am getting on his 12 week route. Great guy that is saving me money and hassle. I would pay around
$30 to fill my 35 liter dewer 5 years ago at AirGas. Now I believe they charge $4 per liter.

I just filled my 20L and it was $3.46 a L. Last time I filled it was aug 6th and I filled it on the 20th of December so 137days and it was still cold and fuming yesterday. It has done a shit ton of blades. Let me see if I can count the number. It’s probaby done 75-100 blades in that amount of time. So all in all not that pricy all things considered.

Friday I filled my 10L and was only charged 12.50 plus 2.50 hazmat surcharge. I bought $200 of welding supplies at the time as well so maybe he cut me a deal.
