Hey Guys,

I was just updating my EDC FAK and was wondering what you guys thought about replacing my mid to small size band-aids with liquid bandage? I have used it before with good success, and wanted to know what your experiences were? I know some people use "super glue" but I'm using the actual liquid bandage.............

got some on my finger right now. great stuff. super glue works just as well though.

Ditto, you can get super/crazy glue in multi single use packs too. 2-5 single use tubes in like a miniature plastic soap dish. I came across these at the check out counter at the grocery store and bought up a half dozen of them. Have them scattered - first aid kit, glove box, etc.

I use a lot of it myself..but you still need bandaids to slow the bleeding if its deep.

liquid skin includes clove oil which has some antiseptic properties.
It's also waterproof once dry, which is something a lot of bandaids aren't.

Im a medic and the good old fashioned band-aids still have their place.A couple bandaids take up almost zero space. Also throw in some steri strips while you are at it. I will see about posting up my different FAK's later.

I think it sucks, I had bad cuts on my fingers from dry skin...mostly in the corners of my fingers...tried some it didn't do good at all. Maybe it's fine for very small cuts.

I cut my cheek once with a screwdriver. I put the liquid bandage on it, worked like a charm. I can't even see a scar. A doctor I know, said I did the best thing for that situation. Who wants a bandade on their face?
The human body has many types of skin, and different people's skin and their injuries will vary. But, the skin glue does work, it's not permanant, nor perfect.
I have used plenty of bandades in my day, culinary industry for 12 years, and a few in autobody. Give me some gauze, or a blue shop towel, duct tape, or medical tape, and I'll have you back to work in no time.

Wow guys thanks for all the great insight !I think what I'm going to do is replace the small size band-aids, and keep the medium ones , and my small role of electrical tape .

Thanks for all the help, and yes we can start this into a FAK picture/idea thread!
