Hi everyone.
After some time, I'm going to show you a knife I recently finished. It's my interpretation of the so-called 'confederate D-guard bowie' with an overall length of over 20 inches... It's a pocket knife. I've been working on it since March, along with other work. In total, it took me about 250 hours of work, of which the scabbard was a significant part. Even though the knife is rustic and may look "simple", there were a few parts that took a lot of time... First of all, the fit between the scabbard and the guard, where the ball goes in and the guard meets the wood in an arc and still at an angle, was quite "tasty". I spent about three or four days making it fit in - "apply pencil - imprint - scrape" style. The "Dremel" made volute also took its toll... Overall, there were parts that were fun and inspiring. As my first D-guard bowie, I rate it positively
So I hope you enjoy it too, and see you at the next knife "as time and children permit"
See you later, Peter
