LL Bean sounding hatchet knife combo

Can anyone shed some light on this? Age/era etc.? I have not purchased it yet but I can. The seller wants $150 and I can't find any real info online for it. Age, value etc. I love the kit, and it is like new, but if it's not older and worth anything I don't wan't to get taken. I do like it though.

Every year they have a different “collectors” knife. I believe that set was it for 2018.

I wonder if you cold find out how many they sold or were made available for the year it was produced.

The lid of the collectors box says 600 were produced and it looks like they sold for $199.

That seems kinda crazy. That knife appears to have the same cheap stacked leather handle that $20 Walmart knives do. Could just be the picture though?? Do they feel like quality jb? It does look like a pretty cool little set though.

That's a lot of money for a Vaughan sub zero hatchet and an unknown B&T knife.
Sure the sheath looks pretty nice though.

I agree the hatchet is %99 a Vaughan. The knife is fine (it reminds me of some Rough Rider knives) but it doesn't say USA anywhere on it. I'll bet that it cost L.L. Bean $30-40 to produce these kits including the packaging.

If I can find some sales history for these actually being collectible now and worth something I'll consider it, but with the info that I have now I'm going to pass.
