loctite on pivot

I am wondering how many of you use blue loctite on the pivot screw? It seems like there is a sweet spot where the blade is centered, flies open like a rocket and can still drop freely when lockbar tension is released. I notice that this only lasts about a dozen flips and then it is not centered (not rubbing either but...OCD) and isn't quite as tight when locked up. So just curious...anybody else run into this and are using blue loctite?

Just a drop is more than enough. I was running into the same situation trying to find a balance. Loctite is the key.

I use teflon tape as well. It works wonders, like Jensen said: no mess, no trying to break the pivot free with tools/armorer's tool, and it doesn't take much either. Definitely give it a try!

I have tried the Teflon tape and it works great. I have since switched to purple Loctite as it does the same job as Teflon tape yet doesn't require me to use an armorers tool for disassembly.

I Loctite all my knives, never had any problems and it has held up. Never heard of Teflon tape until now

I'm not opposed to a (tiny) bit of loctite, I just use the Teflon because of my constant desire to change up the configurations of my Hinderer's.

I use purple loctite, it is just enough to hold it and just easy to break free when needed. It is hard to find and in most cases it needs to be orders so when that runs out, Teflon tape will probably be my go to.

I also use Loctite 222. It's meant to secure adjustment screws and easily breaks free, yet inhibites unwanted movment of the screw.

Purple loctite for the win in my experience. Not a fan of blue on pivots.

I've switched from blue over to purple loctite on all my knives that require it and have been satisfied with it. Just a teeny tiny amount.

It does seem some have been happy with the Teflon tape so I think it may give it a go and see.

Marty & RDA, I just received VC-3, and it works great! I seem to need it most when using ti scale, so just installed it and it's solid.
Thanks to both of you.

You got it, it really is a good but very little known product and perfect for the pivot screw application.
