Logo-less Victorinox

So I've gone slightly SAK crazy in the past four months or so and have bought a bunch of models, including a couple of lots of NTSA seized Classics. In one of the lots I got a Bijou (same as Classic, but no key ring). It's the blue one below. It has no Swiss cross logo on either side. And while I can't rule out that it's a fake, if it is, it's such a high quality fake that I guess I don't see the point. The blade steel has the same "Victorinox Switzerland Stainless Rostfrei" as my other Classics and there is literally no difference in build quality, however minor.

So my question ... are logo-less SAKs common?

I can only wonder if it was one of a lot that was purchased by a company that puts company logos on classics for ad purposes?

I've seen a ton of small classic's with different company name and/or logo on them that was done up by a middle man advertising company. Some of those hand out ad sak's had the Vic cross, some didn't. Maybe some got grabbed by company employees for them selves before the paid ad logo was put on.

Our nice is a graphic design specialist, and she goes all over designing company logos for the internet and other stuff. She is also a die hard fan of the classic, and has a collection of a hundred of them with different logo's on them from all ver. Many are companies that she designed the logo for, and some of them the company emblem is on the front where the Swiss cross would be, and a saying on the back like, "No equal in performance." for a car company or "Saving lives every day." for a drug company in England.

Maybe yours was a would be advertising knife?

the scales on the classics are the same on both sides and easy to remove so maybe someone just put 2 back scales without a logo on his classic.

jackknife and martijn, you have both offered plausible solutions here. If I had to guess, this Bijou was probably intended for a corporate logo, or perhaps it used to have a corporate logo on it but somebody buffed it off. I can't see any trace of a logo. But, like I said, I'm about as sure as I can be that it's a real Victorinox.

Yep I agree with jackknife and Martin. As long as the blade has a legit Victorinox stamp I think you're ok.

I'm not crazy worried about it either way. I've bought lots of TSA seized Classics, to the point I have about $2 invested in each of them, on average. And I like having 15-20 of them just sitting around on hand. They're great for bugout bag first aid kits, giving away to friends, giving to kids, etc. And I always have one on my keychain, of course.

And here I thought I was the only one who hoarded up TSA classic's! Good to know someone else has the same obsession. Of course, I keep handing them out to non knife nuts who need a knife, so the number keeps changing. I've always thought of the classic as the Giddeon's bible of sak's. The entry level drug.
