Can anybody recommend somebody to help me re-work my mark? I'm looking for something to stamp.

Scott, your parents already designed your stamp - your name.
Make sure that whoever looks at one of your knives knows immediately who made it.
ROUSH

ya ya ya... :-) but I want it artfully done! With a good font. Not an overused one from my own computer.

Does Ernie design? I thought he just took other folks art work and made stencils? I'm wanting a stamp.

Okay... you convinced me Karl. I'm copying that design from your post. How much do I owe you?

OK, I'm just playing around.
Back to work now.

Let's see Mark.. that is either Sand or Papyrus right? No thank you.. yours is probably more expensive than Karl's... too fancy and wordy. You guys are a great help! :-)

Thanks Patrice.... I've worked with Ernie before.. I will give him a call.

Maybe some sort of mascot.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself joking with you. It is April Fool's day and I am feeling a bit foolish. I didn't mean to mess up your thread.

A quick opinion on maker's marks.
Simple and readable is best in my opinion.
There are a few makers I wont name who have incorporated an image into their mark. Some might think it cool, but a lot won't.
My idea of a mark should be to ID the maker and not detract from the look of the knife.
One exception that I like is the stylized BF that Burt Foster uses. Only problem is if someone is not fluent in custom knives they won't know who the maker is.
Unless there is another Roush out there, I would think your last name on the blade would suffice.

This is just my 2 cents, but I feel your style is unique enough that people would recognize the knife and then be able to confirm it is one of yours by the name stamped on it.

You were kidding? I already sent that image to Ernie! Thanks man.

You know.. I've been considering Karl's ROUSH and it is starting to sound better. Reminds me of SERGE. Simple. But I also like Don Hanson's sunfish design..... not so much of an image, but a symbol. I dunno.. maybe I will keep using my esoteric 'SAR in the Diamond' and then stamp a big gothic ROUSH.

LECTROETCH.COM THEY HAVE A Graphic Designer ON HAND AND VERY REASONABLE

Anything forged we use a actual stamp, on thin blades knives we etch. Ernie did our stencils and he was perfect to work with. Very fast turnaround as well..
