Anyone have experience with Lauri blades? Are they any good?

I want to make a puukko as a summer project but I will need a blade blank from somewhere, I'll take care of the rest.

The Lauri blank here would be nice... especially for the price...

NEW LAURI HIGH CARBON 103H BLADE

3" X 3/4" WIDE BLADE.

7 5/8" OVERALL WITH A 3MM THICK BLADE.

HARDENED TO 59 ON THE ROCKWELL SCALE.

UNPOLISHED BLADE WITH SCANDINAVIAN GRIND.

THIS IS A NICE SIZE ALL PURPOSE BLADE WOULD ALSO MAKE A NICE SMALL SKINNER.

Thanks!

PS: to the mods, if I posted at the wrong place, feel free to move the thread at the right place. Thanks!

I used few of those, decent carbon stel blades, great for whittling, they also made zone tempered blades(marked LPT),cutting edge (HRC 63) spine (HRC 53)for couple bucks more.I got mine from https://www.brisa.fi

Are the LPT ones much better? Seems like they are double the price... are they double the quality? :P

Nice work on yours btw... I like it!

Not sure about double quality, but they are better and fancier :)
If you are registered buyer at Brisa, prices are lower.

Lauri blades are great. The PT series has a temper line in it and holds up really well.

I use them to make my Scandi knives (but mine aren't near as good as rinos) as do many Scandi knife users here.

An open "secret", but Kellams uses Lauri blades in their knives. The PT blade is used in their very popular "Wolverine" knife.

For the price I don't think you can beat a Lauri blade. The PT is more expensive but it's still not a lot of money and in the end that's what I decided to go with. Here's mine:
