I've been in search of a fully-functional/battle-ready straight blade katana or ninja-to with a 24" or shorter blade. I've been on the lookout for a few years now ever since the one I was going to purchase is no longer available(cannot remember brand). My preference is traditional style. Any advice?

Hard to call something traditional when one has never actually been found.

However, given what you have asked I would recommend checking out the one that Hanwei sells. Hard to beat them for good, functional swords at a fair price.

Thanks to both of you for the replies.

And yes, falar, I agree. I meant the term traditional more like traditional Japanese style. Since I see a lot of these sci-fi looking or modern looking blades lately. I used quotation marks just for that reason, I'm on the "waiting for historical evidence" band-wagon. Regardless if it was ever used outside of fiction, I want one in my collection, and every straight blade I see is around 28" blade.

It would help if you gave a price you are willing to spend. Joe's first suggestion is great, and Hanwei is ok. However there is a bit of a price difference :D

If you're not dead set on a straight blade Dynasty forge makes a nice Ko-Katana, and if you search for chisa katana you will find they are typically about 24" in length.

Thank you for the advice. I was not yet set on a price-range. I'll probably be taking a closer look at the one Hanwei sells.

Yes, I'm not arguing that. Just interested in adding a straight blade to my collection like I mentioned earlier. I trained with the Bujinkan.
