I dont know if this is the best place to post or not. Im looking for cutlery store in the N.Alabama. Anywhere from Birmingham North. I ve tried the yellow pages but cant come across anything. Im wanting to find a good place to handle some knives in person. One that carries some of the more popular namebrands.Thanks

Used to be one in Birmingham in Galleria, but don't know now. If in Gadsden, there is a pawn shop on 5th street and Broad called Mal's, they have a lot of old case knives and other ones, real friendly folks. Will let you drool until you dry up and handle all you want. Sorry, can't help you any more than that, there is a flea market on Saturday in Collinsville AL and I understand there are several dealers there, On Sunday, from Attalla going west on 278 there is the Mountain Top Flea Market, covered with knife guys.

Best selection variety of quality knives in Birmingham area:
Mark's Outdoor Sports in Vestavia. Chris Reeve, Benchmade, William Henry, Case, Lone Wolf, and a lot of other brands.
Selection limited to fewer makers, more tactically oriented, but substantially lower prices than Marks:
Southeastern Guns in Trussville. Spyderco and Benchmade
predominantly, also Cold Steel, but a great variety of each of these makers' products. If you go in there, tell them the tall guy with the handicapped daughter sent you.
These two are so good I wouldn't bother with any others in this area. I am in both at least once a week.
Alabama Gun Collector's Association Fall Show is at the Birmingham/Jefferson Civic Center this weekend, by the way.

P.G. Quick Company in Cullman. He has Case, Queen, Schatt & Morgan, Lone Wolf, Bulldog, small amounts of Ontario, Entrek, Emerson, Kershaw, etc. One more place up in Hartselle, J and P Ernest Cutlery; I don't like the owner at all, but they have a boatload of knives. If the owner ain't there and Anthony is, not too bad to deal with.
