i currently carry an Esse 3 and a Leatherman Surge. i never use the Esse at all but do find myself in need of a pry tool. as far as requirements go it would need to be a pry tool first and knife second... other tools would be a nice addition i.e bottle opener, glass breaker etc etc. i would like it to be roughly the same size as the Esse with a simular high riding sheath as well so it can be concealed under my shirt...

thanks guys.....

*i work in the antiques business so i basically crawl around attics and basements all day looking for anything of value.

Check out the DPx hest line of fixed blades.

Countrycomm widgy bar comes to mind.

ive though about those but i need a bit more leverage. 8'' or so would be ideal as thats the length of me Esse 3 and i carry that comfortably on my belt and its just long enough to provide leverage for medium tasks like prying open windows, hammering nails into plaster to hang pictures, prying open stuck doors, dresser drawers etc etc.

Like the comment above Becker BK3. I read about a jailer during a major storm using that tool to break out an inmate. It was an emergency and the keys were gone. The tool was bent but it did the job. Ethan Becker told that story

Had a Cold Steel SRK once that fit the "pry bar" description.

I don't have a BK2, but a buddy does... it looks as though it fits the bill.

Tell ya though, if ever there was a call for one of our Forum knifemakers to brew up a custom tool, this would be the time.

I'd love to have a custom "pickers pick" purpose made for me by one of the fine makers over in the custom arena. Be cool as hell.

exactly ...........

To add to the BK3 suggestion, check out the Ontario SP8 as well. It's bigger and bulkier thank the BK3, but very sturdy, got one in the car. DPx HEST is a great option too, and if you want to go even smaller, check out the Kershaw Barge.

Boker Cop Tool with an overall length of 6 inches.

DPX HEFT 4 is a stout 4" fixed blade with Niolox steel, full tang, smooth g10 scales. Can be found for $100-$120 on a certain auction site

How about an older diving knife by dacor? a lot of those were essentially made as pry bars first knives second.

Even though OP asked for a knife with included prybar, I'd recommend as many others to get a mini prybar to use by itself

It's dangerous to pry things and exert force when there's a sharp edge a few inches nearby.

It also allows prying at complicated angles and tight spaces, maneuvering a knife inside those is asking for trouble and very cumbersome.

Cheap, many models and makers to choose from, some even have added versatility!
