Looking for a Lower Leg Knife

I'd like a fixed blade that can be carried on my lower leg, under my pants, strapped into position (not attached to a boot). I'd like a blade length of about 4", a fairly low weight (handle should be skeletonized), and not too much width so its inconspicuous. I want something similar to a dive knife, but with a harder blade steel. Suggestions?

I'd say, put it somewhere else. Unless you wear your pants fairly baggy, it may be hard to hike up your pant leg enough to draw the knife, especially with stiffer denim.

My Carcajou's blade is about 3 in, and with the sheath, it makes drawing from the leg impossible. Also don't get a fitted sheath (kydex, but mainly the poly-stuff) , beause it must be strapped to your leg very securly in both directions. Plastic sheaths are also stiff and will, be uncomfortable, especially with the bands/straps on you leg being all tight. Also keep in mind that a strap will probably have to be above and below the buldgy part of the calf.

TOO MUCH STUFF TO THINK ABOUT. So go look for some other options, I'm also looking for another out of the way place to put my fixed.

Please post any other carry options for a fixed blade.

Cold Steel used to make the Culloden (based on the Scottish Sgian Dubh) that came with a leg sheath (for wearing it the traditional way of under a sock when wearing a kilt). I'm not sure of the availability, but it sounds like it would meet your needs nicely.

Do you want the handle to be pointing down, toward the ground? This would be better than the handle pointing up, IMO.

I wore a S&W boot knife like that for a bit. Inconvinient as hell, really. I also once carried a CCC boot knife taped upside down to my leg.

I have CRKT Carson - modified by my idea- mirror blade...and double edge... i sharpen it, its like a razor blade...and i made, by few attempts, ankle holster for it, its made from Galco holster for Glock26, very comfortable on the ankle under jeans or sport pants, easy to grab

Spyderco Spot would be better! ;)

I suggest a slim folding knife clipped under something like an Ace bandage. Because it folds the overall length is only half as long. That means you only have to pull up your cuff half as far. If you use a one-hand opening knife it is still rather quick. The bandage will cover most of the knife and does not look suspicious if it shows a little.

i own a s&w boot knife - and it would suck in the calf carry position. BUT, it is fantastic in the tool pocket of most pants. it is however out in the open at that point...

this is a ghetto rigged set up for a busse urban camo skeleton key - extremely functional knife and a stable carry set up. it disapears in my carhartts.

Simona and SethMurdoc, those are both interesting setups. I'm generally looking for something like that.

Speed of draw isn't particularly important, as this would be a backup knife to be drawn in a situation where time is plenty and avoiding detection takes precedence.

the paracord can also be used as a tourniquate

you could also take the strands out and use it for multiple handcuffs, tiedowns, thread, etc

if you need lawful carry, you could always go with a crafstman 6" center punch. once you ge tused to it, you can break pretty much any bone you hammer it into, and a head shot is pretty damaging, even if your not good at it.

if you work in anything that uses a center punch, the auto industry, air conditioning, construction, you can just say you had it at work, and forgot to take it out of your pocket.
