I am looking for a nice folding bull cutter knife. Some kind of flat blade and I can’t seem to find one that folds. Any recommendations?

Aren’t stockman knives with spey blades made for that?

Maybe a LoomFixer?

Yes, but I’d rather have a bull knife style. I like the bull knife’s, just wish I could find a decent one that folds

Some of the old stockman had "For cutting flesh" stamped on the spey.
Not sure what brands but my grandfather had one and I could read it.
Maybe Schrade.
"69 or "70 .
Sorry to go off topic. Christmas cheer.(:

I'm not familiar with a "bull" knife pattern?
Do you have a pic?
A vet supply catalog may have what you want if you're talking about a castration blade.

If you are actually planning on castrating a bull, I would recommend rubber bands, although they can be dangerous. Wear eye protection.

Maybe post a picture of the one you like that doesn’t fold. So we have a clue what you are talking about.

That's the shape I'm most familiar with for them. Very straight razor-esque profile and grind.

Edit - they do make straight razor style folders, maybe find one you like and have a maker round the tip?

I haven't read through the thread, so I don't know if anyone else picked up on this...

But if the OP's middle name initial were to be an "O", he would be C.O. Jones

In Spanish, "cojones" means testicles. Is someone having us on or lopping them off? Inquiring minds want to know. ☺️ 🤠

Now thats reading between the lines! Or letters as it may be. I like! Back in 2017 I wrote a thread about this type of knife. The photos have gone away now with time but there is some info here if anyone is interested:

I've made quite a few but haven't made any in some years. Just never a huge seller for us. Different traditions in different parts of cow country and this type of knife isn't really part of our traditions here locally or round about.

Not many (if any) people cut adult bulls. Bull calves is something else. Younger the better if possible. I've used rubber bands and regretted it at market when they still had one "clinging." Switched to cutting on the advice of my vet, Ed Fowler and my cattle raising brother in law. Tried surgical scalpels and spey blades on folders. The stainless blade on a large Buck stockman was my favorite.
