Any one know a good place to get Bowie knives I’ve been looking for a bone or wood handled one for a while but all I really find is the badly made Pakistani or Chinese stuff with fake wood or bone or are complete scams I really need something I can put through hell and back

You can find a lot of great bowies, I'd look at Busse battle mistress and Fallkniven MB10, a little lower price will get you a cold steel Laredo, Natchez or trail master. Budget bowies would be kabar and tops. There are too many to list. Good luck on the search.

Hinderer makes some nice ones. I just got the Ranch model today. It’s a pretty big knife.

The Emmett is a smaller model.

Look up Svord Peasant VTB - Von Tempsky Forest Bowie for a good beater.

They are kinda crude and heavy. The guards will be a bit loose, but I doubt you will get better for the money

Btw I’m looking for a more traditional clip point I’ve had the cheap ones and they were just clunky and unbalanced I need something with good balance so I can move it with ease from swinging it to chop wood to slashing fast with the finesse of a fencer and to everyone helping me sincerely thank you

9-10 in blade 4.5-5 inch handle no real price range
A number of forum members here do beautiful work and you could pick exactly what you want. Mike Deibert makes beautiful bowie choppers. Mine is on my side much of summer in the woods. Not sure the blade you prefer, but Fallkniven does make some really nice stuff. I still have an old Cold Steel Trailmaster in Carbon V. It is the bowie type knife that got me liking big blades. So many choices! Good luck with your search.

Maybe a Cold Steel Wild West Bowie. It has a full tang, which I would consider desirable for chopping, but I believe the tang is also skeletonized for greater balance. With bowie knives, sometimes the ones that make the best "fighters" don't make for good "choppers", and vice versa. It's not uncommon for "fighter" bowies to have very narrow stick tangs, or cable tangs to reduce weight.

I provided a youtube video to show how tough the knife is. If it can be used to split logs, I imagine it could handle chopping as well. I'm not a bowie guy, but I was impressed by it. I have no affiliation with the video.

And unlike other Cold Steel knives, the Wild West comes with a leather sheath rather than the less desirable plastic Secure-ex sheath.

How about a CS Laredo or Nachez bowie. While I don't own either the Laredo looks like it would be lively in hand. Maybe some members around here that have them can chime in with more info. Welcome to BladeForums there are some good folks here and quite a bit of knowledge to go along with them.
Good luck on your hunt. 👍 That's the best part. 😁

Unfortunately, there is no definitive Bowie knife or type. As, you can see from the previous posts just about any knife can and has been called a “Bowie“. You have already told us that you would prefer a large fixed blade of 9-10”. Tell us about your intended use. A self-defense knife (light, fast, with a sharpened back edge) is very different from a general utility knife or a wood chopper. Sharing your thoughts with us can help us to better focus this conversation to knives that you might actually consider.
