Looking for info on a Dozier

I received a couple new to me Dozier knives today and would like to see if any of you have an idea if when the filett knife may have been made? I've never seen this logo on one of his knives. Is it and older knife or possibly a custom order? Any info would be appreciated.

I've been wanting a k-8 semi skinner for quite a while....it does not disappoint.

You bought it New? Or from someone?

I'm no expert, not by a long shot.....but I'm kind surprised that It's not labeled as a Dozier. How certain are you that it's real?

Flat grind or hollow?

What's the other side of the sheath look like?
Horizontal or vertical carry?

It looks different too

I bought the knife used. The guy had 3 other Doziers available along with it. It looks and feels just like a Dozier....I'd be very surprised if it were a copy of some kind.

The blade is hollow ground. The sheath isn't set up to carry on a belt. I'm betting it was ordered that way because most people don't carry a fillet knife on their belt. The kydex and rivets are exactly what he uses.

I'm hoping someone comes along that has a knife with the same logo.

Dozier shop tour on the AG Russell channel from 2020-

In the comments it says "A knife marked Dozier, St. Paul was made entirely by Bob".

Neither knife in the first post is marked “Dozier St. Paul.” AGR and Dozier have played games with marks in the past.

So what do you think it is?

I emailed Bob to see if he could clarify where it was made. Hopefully I'll hear back.

I don’t know, except it’s a mark I’ve never seen before on a Dozier. I’m ignorant :)

I’ve never seen a collector‘s display of Dozier marks. I’ve watched his website and AGR’s site and catalog for years. I’ve seen the marks on Dozier knives change for various reasons, mostly for maximum marketing. I’ve seen nothing in Knife or Knife World. Dozier knives are collectible, but neither collectors, Dozier or AGR offer up cohesive info on marks.

As people say in MO “Show Me” :) Especially since they come from AK :)

Here's a picture from the link that T tltt posted above. It shares the same logo as my knife. After doing some more looking around it seems to me that he is correct.

If I ever get an answer from Bob's shop, I will let you know for sure.

How do you know it was made directly by Dozier? He stated on this forum that he hasn’t made a knife start to finish in years and that was years ago.

I don't know for sure, but that was what was implied when they went over to the two stamp system. Springdale was more of a small shop type environment, while the St. Paul stamp was more like Bob's home shop, where he'd make what he felt like making that day.

They were still being "sold" that way a few years ago -
