I replied in another thread and thought I would create a discussion here. I am looking for a pants that has all the cool edc features like a small space for a knife clip to clip to that is reinforced, deep carry pockets, even a front pocket. The material should be very rugged and durable like a ripstop etc.

The caveat is this, they have to look normal and not look like military or police or service pants..or what is otherwise known as " shoot me first pants"

It can be khakis or jeans or anything really.

I've owned a few tactical pants from tru-spec, 5.11, and even police gear a cheaper option, but they all look so...tactical.

The Kuhl pants do not seem special and the Carlos Ray are too tactical, I appreciate the suggestion though!

The duluth seem nice, wish they had a pocket knife clip area though

Wrangler RIGGS have a reinforced patch on the RFP meant for a tape measure but will work with a knife. Carpenter pants do no look tactical to me.

Good call, those are great! Deep pockets, ripstop, reinforced pocket for the clip. They look more work than tactical, which is fine with me. Deff gonna pick up a pair of these

I have 7 pairs of the Mountain Khakis Alpine Utility Pant.

deep pockets
neat, double (hidden) pocket on the right
reinforced seams
gusset crotch
tool pocket for an extra gadget

And it has the knife clip angle on the pockets, these pants are pretty awesome! Extremely expensive but exactly what I was looking for. There isn't a million pockets on the legs for gun clips either lol. Thanks for this suggestion!

So far Im going to get some wrangler riggs and a pair of mountainkhakis!

5.11 Ridgelines are a little less tactical looking than other 5.11 pants with all the features you need. Lots of pockets, very durable, look good, more of a jean cut.

I have 4 pairs the 5.11 defender pants also and really like them. They fix well and flex with a little stretch and look like jeans with a couple of extra pockets.

The VERTX Delta have become my favorite all around pants, and wear them almost daily in the fall/winter months. They are very functional but do not scream tactical at all, they just look like a rugged pair of pants. They are almost like jeans just in different colors, and they fit alot like jeans. They have two dedicated "knife" pockets on either side which is a must for me, even though I never use them to carry my knife, rather because I need a secure place to carry my Swisstool and flashlight (Surefire Aviator). I strongly suggest giving these pants a try to anyone looking for a low key tactical pair of pants. Check out some of the YouTube reviews out there (Last Line of Defense does alot of pants reviews).

For summer I go with Tru-Spec 24/7's that I had a local seamstress make into shorts. Yes, they are a bit more "tactical" in design, but they are really good at carrying gear without standing out in that manner, especially with summer clothes. Plus, like I said I really need those side "knife" pockets. At this point I don't even consider pants without them.

I've had both the Vertx Delta and the 511 Defender. I have the Deltas away and have multiple pair of the Defender jeans (I like the solid color) and the Defender pants (in the stone and burnt colors).

I like the stretch fabric. I've got versions in both straight leg and the original slim. I wear the slim with Keen sandals or lace up boots and the straight legs in a longer inseam with my American made Justin boots.

The stretch fabric supports a single stack 9 or a J Frame when carried in the appendix area in an IWB holster.

They are what I wear about 90% of the time.

Good luck.
