LPS 3® Heavy-Duty Inhibitor

We use it in the aircraft trade ,every time we give the plane a major service the floor boards get lifted for inspection ,we then clean (vacum) and spray it every where ,keeps the moisture out .

Do you suppose it will affect the finish of the blade  ( will it stain  )

I use LPS3 a lot on my boat (coastal salt water environment). It will not stain metal, rubber, or fiberglass, but it did seem to break down the sound dampening foam on an old outboard engine. It has done a great job protecting everything made of cast iron in my garage where everything unprotected rusts in a matter of weeks.

It is a great (many years of protection) rust inhibitor for protected areas, i.e. where it will not be washed off. It doesn't last nearly as long if exposed to the open weather (6 months or less). It dries/sets to a waxy, soft, yellowish film.

For long term storage of firearms and knives my only concern would be for any unsealed wood or leather. It might discolor them.
