Awesome pics, looks like a great place. Good catch on the blue belly, I dig those little guys.

Ok, more camp photos
JM Bush knife and ESEE-3 worked hard keeping the fire going.

Edge retention at its finest. After all the battoning and carving the ESEE-3 was still able to do this.

Awesome pics. Looks like a sweet waterfall and nice swimming hole. The penstemon are beautiful this time of year.

Awesome pics Reuben as usual. Man I'm so jealous of the places you get to go to and hike, glad someone is getting to do it. Keep'em coming. Travis

Thanks for sharing the pics. Looks like you had a great time out there.

That's why I love Southern CA. An hour from L.A. and it's wilderness. Or ocean. Or desert. Even skiing in season. I've gotta go out again. I haven't seen a kingsnake in too long.

very nice Rueben. great photos as usual. I would love to be able toget some of that huge yucca stem in the last pic in the first set

Love the pics, that is an awesome area. Any more info on the JM knife? Looks like a solid, straightforward worker

Man, that brings back some memories. I haven't been up Lytle Creek in 20 years.

If you like waterfalls, there's a really nice one in the hills above Altadena; less than an hour walking from JPL. I used to take the dog up there all the time.

Cool, what is name of it?

Very nice shots. Looks like fun doing the minimal camp thing out there. What were the night temps down to?

Is it Switzer Falls? That one is one of the largest in that area, really cool falls with a huge swimming hole.

Minimal? Just regular camp for us. Less gear means easy clean up and organization. Temps only down to high 40'sF. We both used over quilts that I made. Slept in small bivies, and I had a tarp for extra wind and rain protection. If it rained, there was enough room for him to get under it too.
