So I got a CRKT M16-01KS from Wally's a couple months ago. Overall, not a bad flipper for the price. I'm OK with 8cr14mov for a majority of what I use it for (light/medium edc). The lock up is sturdy. Though the frame lock isn't the easiest, it's gotten easier as it breaks in. My only real complaint is the edge grind. It's an almost chisel grind, asymmetrical thing. Does CRKT put that on a lot of their knives? I have some other knives of similar blade shape with a more symmetrical grind that cut better. I heard they did the asymmetrical grind for serrated versions, but this one isn't serrated. Obviously I'm going to reprofile it as I want, but I'm curious if anyone likes the stock edge and why. I feel like I'm missing something, like a nuance to the spec that alludes me.
Edit for clarity: it's the edge bevel that is asymmetrical, it's a hollow ground blade. Don't drink and type kids

CRKT is not known for its quality control, it's probably not something that was done on purpose for some function.

Normally I'd think the same, but I've actually seen others mention reprofileing specifically because of the weird angles it's sharpened at. I think someone had said they had to sharpen along the lines of 20 degrees on one side and 28 on the other.
