MAJOR Fake Alert.......!!! Beware ALL CRK Fans....FAKE UBEJANE !!!

Looks like most of the "Chris Reeve" knives listed on that site are fake.

I see the infamous "F32" Sebenza for sale there.

yeah - search for anything "Reeve" on that site, and you'll be shocked at what comes up. CRK knows about them, but how do you fight state-condoned counterfeiting?

All the more reason to know who you're buying from and make sure there is a documented chain of custody if possible. What a bummer.

If you want to help prevent these counterfeits from getting into people's hands, why are you posting the link? It's not as if "made in China" isn't ample proof that they're fakes.

Now a few visitors here are probably going to buy knives from that site based on your link.

You might be right, but I still agree with Justice Louis Brandeis in that "Sunlight is the best disinfectant". The better educated the consumer, the better choices they are likely to make IMO.

I am posting so that my fellow CRK friends are aware of this site and can avoid it. In NO WAY am I promoting sale from this site, I am posting so those that are new to CRK may become more informed. The knife does not say Made in China either, it says Made In USA, which is even more wrong on so many levels.

For those that appreciate "CRK Fake Alert" info, your welcome
For those that don't, if you happen to buy a fake one, don't complain here when it fails and does not live up to CRK quality and reputation.

Actually the site says "Place of Origin:Guangdong China (Mainland)". That doesn't make what they're doing any less wrong, but I just wanted to let you know that it doesn't say made in USA.

The Knife itself says Made In USA with the CRK Logo, is what I was referring too. The fine print below is where it says: "Place of Origin:Guangdong China (Mainland)"

To me, the better Informed you are, the better off you are. So by letting CRK fans and the like out there know about this, the better off they are.

Yes I completely agree! Thanks for the heads up and hopefully no one that views this thread will even consider buying one.

the others are obviously "inspired" by the originals and looking at the pics you clearly see they're fakes, the ubejane pictured may even be the original, looks tooooo well made despite the others
they say, D2,440C and such in the descirptions along "insipred" or "sebenza style" not in the ubejane and even the prices are very different between them

Is there anything about the knife that appears to be fake? I didn't see anything. They probably took a picture of a real Reeve knife but that isn't what the person is going to receive. Common tactic for fakes of all kinds.

Those were some of my thoughts as well.

The fact that you can order 100 of them at a time and get a discount might be another clue...

Mahalo Brother for the heads up.

I like to go by their descriptions...I know english isn't everyone's first language, but when it's THAT terrible, I tend to steer clear :D and it says "country of origin" is China...that's usually a red flag to me

The pictures are of a real CRK skinner, but for that price and being able to order those numbers I doubt very much that you will be getting a real CRK skinner. Infact I'm more than sure you won't.

I have seen fake OPKs many times over here in Taiwan, some are copies of actual knives and some are just a knife that looks mildly like a CRK one piece. They are of shockingly bad quality and are easily recognised as such by any one familiour with a real CRK one piece knife. The blades are actually welded on to the handle on some that I have seen (perhaps all), that doesn't really inspire too much confidence.

I don't know if there are any attempts at making actual good quality knives but I think this is something CRK need to think about. They stopped making these knives and now they are very popular indeed so there is quite a market for them now. I fear new people to CRK will buy these fake knives when they see how hard it is to find a real OPK and see how much they cost these days as well. I hope not of course, but I know many people that are looking for OPKs at this time........

I agree, the OPK are IMO more popular than ever. Part of it is that they were discontinued and will no longer be made, so collectibility plays a big part in that. I think in most cases though, people realized how great the OPK really were and are just trying to find one to actually use, since they missed out on them when they were readily available. Me personally, I would have paid more for one had CRK decided to continue to make them entirely in the USA. I know he had them rough ground by his friend in South Africa to help keep the costs down. Again, I along with many others would surely have paid more and would have continued to buy them. Like anything Good these days, it always seems to come to an end.
