Hi All,

Picked this up long time ago. Seems that what I can remember is this: With Eight children in the family, yup that is (8) all living under the same roof, my mom was rather frugal. I remember when we bought shoes, often for all of us it was this brand, my sole inclination for this purchase.

This blade is exceptionally built, all blade have half stops, and the bone is sick... although with a few cracks.

Looking at this one, any clue of the maker?, My guess is Camillus solely based on the bone alone. Could use some experts here, Year of manufacturer? Sweet blade that is not for sale. Thks, TD

Cool knife!
Looks rather Kutmaster-ish to me, but that's just a guess.

Guys,

My thought was the punch is distinctive for a Manufacturer. But then I do not know on this one. I am pretty solid on most of the other Old school knives in my collection as I have (18) References(Books) new and old, BUT they don't cover it all that is for sure......

Always appreciate the input!

TD

It does look very much like this mid 40s Sword Brand Scout, but the can opener, screw driver and the punch are different.

Here is my contribution to the thread, a Buster Brown branded jack knife with its Shapleigh branded counterpart

Not sure if linking to ebay is illegal as I'm using it for reference, if so let me know and I can delete the post...

Here's one, looks like the same blade layout and bail configuration, with the tang on the cap lifter stamped Ulster:

On further review, bottle opener is different, but the bottom of the punch looKS the same...

I would call the look of that Bone more Remington or Miller Bros. with that lovely deep Jigging. . Please don't get me wrong - I am not saying the knife IS a Remington/ Miller Bros. but that Bone ! Whew!
I have a Buster Brown Shoe Knife somewhere .....

I'd go with Kutmaster on that one, I don't know of any other company but Kutmaster who used a punch like that.

I agree. And Utica created the Kutmaster brand.

Guys,

Awesome amount of information here. As I read each post I was excited that I knew who made it! Then the next post )-: Seems back in the day everyone was doing something for anyone who needed it, Anyway its either Camillus, Utica/Kutmaster I suppose. Whomever made it, it is solid.

Some very nice blades shown fellas:thumbup:

Thanks for all the input, TD
