Does anyone know if there are fake Manix 2's being made in the lightweight version? Mine came in the mail today (S110V version) and the edge was less than sharp. Wouldn't even cut paper.

Thanks

It would help if you let us know where you purchased the knife.

Also I would think its a little soon for fakes. It should also be noted that factory edges aren not usually the best. Although spyderco is usually very good.

Why is it that the moment that people find an edge that isn't perfect they assume a fake? Chinese made knives I've bought generally have pretty good edges.

Spyderco hand sharpens their blades on a belt grinder. Sometimes the guy doing the job stuffs up.

Get out some diamond stones and sharpen it.

The Manix 2 is not one of the copied Spydercos, at least not yet.

You're serious? Wow. Sorry you got a dull Spyderco. It's rare but it happens. Doesn't make the knife a fake.

Well all Spydercos I've owned and seen have come razor sharp, so… can you see where I'm coming from?

I hate to diissapoint you but that is most definitely the real deal. Send it in to Spyderco with a five dollar bill and they'll take care of the edge for you.

They may even cover the cost of shipping as you just got it. Call them and explain the issue, they will take care of you.

Just for the record, SSK is a very legitimate and reliable dealer. There's not a chance in the world that it's a fake.

I agree with those that say it can be sent in, but I'd also say, get out your stones and put the edge on it to your satisfaction. I think it's great that knife companies offer free sharpening and whatnot, but I also think most serious users should be comfortable doing it themselves... that's just me. No better time to get some practice in than putting a nice edge on your new Spyderco.

I agree with you, but a brand new knife from a renowned manufacturer should not come dull. I emailed Spyderco and will most likely send it in tomorrow.
