Who else loves their Manix 2 XL as much as me :):)!!!! Man I seriously love this knife for being as solid feeling as it is while still being as large and light for its comparative size and toughness.

Do you guys know of any upcoming sprints or exclusives for the manix 2 xl??

what would you suggest is the most comparable to the Manix 2 XL? I have 4 pm2's and I have a Military, I would say they are different mostly due to blade length... I do have a Strider SMF and the Manix 2 XL feels just as solid if not more so then the SMF, plus the G10 is extra grippy, only downside is how large it is in your pocket. I personally don't mind but that but some people may see that as a negative. I feel like it can feel so many roles, I do have a Benchmade Contego all black in CPM-M4 coming tm so we will see what happens in the showdown!!! lol

I don't currently own a Manix 2 XL but have held one many times and it feels great in my larger hands. I'm trying to decide on a large folder myself. I would like to hear a report from you when you compare the Manix XL to the Contego.

Comparable models might include ZT 0909, Hogue ex01 4" and Cold Steel Recon 1 Large

Sounds great, will do!!! this is my 2nd Manix 2 XL I have the satin finished blade as well, its such a sweet knife and I really just love how solid it is. I also currently have a Cold Steel Recon 1 the 4 inch blade and the blade feels a lot more solid on the Manix, at least in regards to blade play. however I will say that I have had the Recon 1 since 2011 and I have only had to tighten the pivot screw once. I mean for me they are so close in price I would get the Manix for sure. I also have the cold steel code 4 and although its a nice knife it is very slick to me and I would probably reserve that for a dressier occasion. I am very excited to try out the contego in the m4 steel though so we shall see.

Yep I'm very attached to my XL. It's a favorite work knife, along with the ZT 0562 which I think has some similarity in it's ergonomics.
The XL is one Spyderco that I think works so much better with a deep carry clip, both for carry and because its easy to grip with the fingers for one hand closing.

that S90v is very very nice!!!! and Cursom Porficio how is that Cruwear!!! I love that green, do you know if those are still available?

The Cruwear seems to hold an edge really well, though to be honest mine has not seen a lot of use so I can't say much about it yet. It's supposed to have very good toughness.
They were a Sprint run that sold fairly quickly and now you will only find them pre-owned. Its grey, lighting not so good in that pic.

I still kick myself for not getting the S90V dealer exclusive XL. Will console myself with an S110V variant when they arrive.

I have carried my Manix 2 XL for 3+ years now. It gets a siesta now and then for the PM2 or a Rat 1 but I always go back to it. Other than the BM Bedlam or the CS Talwar, it is the only folder that feels like it belongs in my hand.

I own 3 of the Manix 2 XLs. Satin Finish black G-10; DLC Coated black G-10; and a Moonglow handle Satin Finish. All in S30v.

Back in the day I carried an original First Gen Manix which is the same size as the Manix2 XL.

This is the knife for me - this is the true Every Day Carry for me. Great Ergos. Wicked Sharp. And a locking mechanism I trust.

Comparisons: I have a Benchmade Contego and a BM Onslaught with comparable size and weight.
The Contego is pretty blade heavy compared to the handle, and the texturing on the handle ensures a non slip grip. However I feel that I had better blade control with the blade shape and geometry on the Manix2. Also the Contego developed a bunch of hot spots with sustained use. The Manix handle shape I can use for quite awhile - no problems.

The Onslaught, fun blade shape, really thin so a great slicer. Handle was more comfortable than the Contego, and maybe had slightly better Ergos than the Manix, slightly. But the thickness of the handle made pocket carry a no go.

So, Manix 2 Xl. Great choice! Can't wait for the Blurple S110v sprint.

Carry my manix 2 XL every day and love it. It definitely takes up some pocket real estate but its worth it. Very comforting know if I have a razor sharp, strong lockup, solid knife that can handle whatever task I may need it for with me on a regular basis. ONLY complaint is there's times the gimping can be a little rough on the hands. Thumbs up to you spyderco!
