I got a real nice pair of small skinners and a cool Winchester Jack in a trade deal. The winchester i know is a Queen made knife and i thought the Marbles were too.But the warranty card and box are labeled Gladstone,Mi.I realize i dont know the story on the modern Marbles USA knives.I do know they are gone now ,the present Marbles stuff being made in PRC and not too impressive looking to me,although they are really cheap and probably decent for the money. The quality on this pair is top notch.Looks like 1095 with a nice even grind.Thought i would share some pics and pick some knowledgable brains on my new Marbles.

Those Winchesters are another brand that I have overlooked in the past. I have a coffin jack headed my way now; very eagerly awaiting its arrival. I have never had any exposure to the Marbles knives either. Thanks for sharing; they are all looking great.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I know that some employees of Marbles are making nice knives with a definite Marbles flavor in Casper, Wyoming. I haven't been able to track that down more specifically.

yes,the winnie is real nice.Stout snap with even half stops.Beautiful black jig bone.I like the pointy butt end bolster.Actually i picked a Muskrat to go with the skinners, but im glad i got this one by mistake.Im working on getting the rest of them.;)

Guys, we already have an extensive thread on the Winchester's so let's not duplicate it here, thanks.

Right, but the question about the recently (last ~ 15 years) made FBs with "Marbles" and "USA" on the tang is a good one. Marbles ownership changed a few times during this period and knife quality varied greatly, but i for one, find it very hard to sort these out just by looking at the pics.
I did read a post some time ago suggesting that at one point there may have been import knives that were stamped "Marbles USA".
anybody able to give a timeline history and how to ID knives as to when they were made ?

I think your Marbles are Mike Stewart era knives. From 98 to 2001. 52-100 steel. The clip point I think is a Special Hunter. Both are nice knives. Marbles USA knives I think were made by Camillus. A lot of Marles USA blades were for sale on Bay at one time after Camillus went under.

They do have the look of a Stewart or Bark River knife.I found a couple of old threads that had some good info. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=697208 http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=578080
