Hello,

I have a knife exactly like the one pictured below. I’m having a hard time identifying who made the knife, either SOG or Boker or Hattori. Except for the Marine Force Recon Emblem, and the serial #052 on one side, and Vietnam 1965-1972 on the other side, there are no other markings.

The sheath is the same, and it come in a white box with only “USMC 052” printed on it.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Raul

Thank you very much. So it looks like the Boker. The AD is in German so I don’t know what it says. I want to sell it, but only if it’s a collectible.

Your knife is somewhat collectible. I’ve seen 3 sold on eBay, one of which I purchased a couple of years ago. I’m a retired Marine, so I wanted the knife. If you’re interested, send me pics and a detailed description and I’d let you know roughly the value.

Well... the condition of the knife is impressive and having the correct sheath and box definitely adds value. I have zero knowledge of how deep the pockets are with BF members, but on eBay it might hit $375 at best if you were a seller with excellent feedback. If you auctioned it... maybe $250-$300. FYI this has been a buyers market on eBay and this knife isn’t one of the more desireable brands. I’m a retired Marine so this is more novelty than collectible. I hope this helps.

Pretty cool knife. SOG based the later Creed on this specific blade design.

For what it is worth, it is a total collector myth that the original Japanese version from the 60's was issued to force recon.
