Marking Carbon Fiber?

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new here but have been making scales for straight razors for a while. My "new thing" is doing a lot of Carbon Fiber scales. I love the stuff for scale material although it is pretty hard to work with, depending on the tools available. Anyway, I'm wondering what I can use to "mark" or draw on a template for the shape I want to cut? Obviously a sharpie won't work. Nor will a pen, pencil, etc. I have been taping a shape or previous scale on the CF and cutting a rough shape that way, but it gets to be a hassle. I just don't know what else to try. I was wondering what I can use to just draw my shape on to the CF? Would chalk work? Something else? Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

Ahhhh, the china marker/grease pencil! Great idea/s guys, thanks! If anyone else uses something different, feel free to post still!

Paint marker from Fastenal. They are made for marking metal. The white even survives HT.

Silver sharpies should work great, my Edge Pro Apex (shiny black injection molded nylon) came marked with one. Shows up clear as day and doesn't smudge.

I've used a silver sharpie for all my black handle material, including CF. Works just fine.

silver pencil works, as well. cant remember the brand off the top of my head, but will get it when i get home.

Silver sharpies are a beautiful thing. Heck I was using them for laying out roofing felt cuts when I was working for a roofing contractor.

Yeah I actually ended up picking up a silver sharpie and it did the trick! I would have also gotten a china marker/grease pencil to try but couldn't find any. Thanks guys.
