I'm looking for a moderately priced bushcraft knife, and I found a company called Martiini who makes Scandinavian style knives, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them?

I have one of the stainless steel bladed ones with a rubber handle, I can't complain at all for under $20, nice sheath, sharpens very well, a lot thicker stock than a mora, great inexpensive cutter in my opinion!

I've used a number of Marttiini's with great success. My favorite bargain one is the M571. Nice carbon steel puukko blade on a red plastic Mora type handle. Great knife and comfy handle and very affordable.

I also picked up a Marttiini Condor which I thought was pretty nice for the money. Mora price ranges and with a much better sheath and comfy handle. Edge held up well even on nasty frozen oak last winter.

Both were well under $20 from Ben's Backwoods and are decent knives. The M571 especially (although its factory sheath doesn't thrill me).

I also got a Marttiini Ranger Leuku recently which seems really nice. I haven't field tested it yet though.

Ooooooh! I've been eyeballing that one for a while now. Am very interested in further observations on this knife, and definitely post a review once you get it outside for some testing. I've also been considering the outdoor knife, although it is more expensive, and you don't seem to get a lot more than their standard puukko, which is a steal at $20.

I have several Marttiini's. I think they are great. Their fillet knives are good. The Condor has a good feel for a modern Scandi.

awesome, thanks for the feedback guys. TStetz, definitely post some feedback when you have a chance to try out that ranger:)

Yep, that Ranger lekku looks great. Another blade enters the megottagetit list!

I really love my red handled martinni.

A fantastic blade!!

I'm having Tim Horan re-make a handle for mine. I said make it thick and he sent me this. What do you think?

You said make it thick and he thought you said make it sick! :D
I think, if you round the corners, it would be perfect.

Tim gave me his professional opinion on the handle, and I said go for it:

I still haven't seen it yet but I can't wait.

Are they as good as Moras? Theres one at an antique store close by. A utility /hunter style. Not very sharp. Wont dig into a thumbnail.

All knives need to be resharpened eventually. :)
Marttiinis are better than Moras. Moras are great, but they are only light utility knives.

What model is it? (if you know) Mine all came with pretty good edges although I touched them up on a strop.
