Hello all, was just curious if anyone has any experience with the Marttiini knives. I went to a local flea market and came home with 2 of them lol; a little condor and a utility. I'm pretty impressed with the overall finish of these knives, the sheaths are pretty nice as well. I was wondering if anyone has tried them out and compared them to the Mora knives. I was able to pick these up & a Gerber covert full size assisted for $50. I already had the smaller covert so wanted to add the larger version to my collection. Thank for reading!

I have a little page where I'm doing short reviews on products including knives. I have my new Marttiini 450 reviewed. I'd just post it here, but I'm not good with pics here. Toward the bottom of the page, I have a Mora Clipper vs Marttiini Little Condor (Classic) video. It'a really not a great video, lol! Here's where you can find the page:

Marttiini knives are better out of the box than Moras. The stainless steel in you Little Condor is softer than stainless Moras but holds it's edge as long in deer skinning. I can't speak for woodworking tasks. The Marttiini knives are sharper out of the box than Moras. A light steeling gives them a razor edge! As you note, Marttiini sheaths are better than Moras. The knives cost more but are worth it. Now, I will say the Mora will do everything a Marttiiini can do and at a lower price in general. I don't have a bad thing to say about Moras, but go look at my Marttiini 450 and you'll see why I heap praise upon these knives.

Marttiini knives are good solid performers and can be though of as something of a "deluxe Mora" in a lot of respects. Their steel runs a little softer, but is still of good working hardness. The renowned Rapala fillet knives are made by Marttiini.

I have one of their fillet knives and also a pukko. Both have given great service for quite a while.
Both take a good edge and hold it reasonably well. You could sped a lot more money & not get much more performance.

Thanks for the help guys. Frisky, I checked out your reviews, I have several of the knives you reviewed. Jc57 looking at that site makes me wanna pick up a few more lol.

I received a Marttiini knife not long ago. It looks as pretty and well finished as on the web site. It's a great EDC : blade of about 3". Absolutely solid in hand, very pleasant grip, excellent finish overall and a sharp, sturdy, strong blade. I sliced up several cardboard boxes right after unboxing it and it needs no honing. Still hair shaving sharp. A very good knife in my book. I'm just not a fan of the scandi grind. If the Finns, Swedes and Norsks would put out more FFGs they could rule the knife world !
