Hey ya folks! So, I was helping a buddy pick out his first real outdoors bag. He came to settle on a decent bag, but it had no waist belt. He weighted it down to about forty pounds. After getting into it, and getting it adjusted..the bag was still very uncomfortable. He didnt want a hiking pack..just a three day, all-purpose bag. After he walked around in it a bit, he decided..nah..dont like it. On a whim, I went out to the truck, and grabbed my Proteus. He put it on and after shifting the bag a little, he said the weight was not near as bad, infact he barely felt it. I was kind of surprised. I had thought that it would only work that way with a falcon ii.
The Proteus, so long as the weight isnt too severe, seems to make a great hip belt. I was pleasantly surprised.
