Maxpedition tac ties

I've got a question for the folks who've been using Maxpedition products for a while.

I just ordered my wife an s-type Fatboy. For some reason, Maxped doesn't include the cell phone pouch on the s-types that they do on the right side versipacks, so I ordered her a cell phone pouch, too.

The anchor point on the s-type has a wide patch of material behind it, so I'm trying to figure out if the color of the tac tie to attach the phone pouch matters, or if it's going to be hidden from view. Does anyone know?

they stick out a bit from the top. I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE tac ties. if it's a perm mount it's not so bad. but if you ever wanna take it off, well it's just something I dont like doing more than once. I use some extra clips from my ESEE knives.

I liteally broke a sweat trying to remove tac ties once. I do however weave them as complicated and tight as possible..

Color doesn't really matter, it's 99% hidden.

If you can use Malice Clips which are much easier to take on and off!! They are cheap, strong, and don't sag like those tac-ties. For the most part black will work with just about and color bag.

the tac-ties are a bit of a nightmare, i'm going to try the Malice Clips and the Blackhawk Speed Clips before i fully commit to one system.

I just ended up weaving some paracord in and out with a cord lock on the end for things I wanted to be able to remove. but if its permanent then they arent to bad. still a pain to get on though.

I have a vulture II, water pouch, many rolly polly, mongo, duffle bags, proteus..

and off course about 20 tac-ties.. it work but its a PITA to tie and untie .. i have to agree with that 500%..

Where can I get those malice clips ?

MALICE clips are made by Bladetech, the same folks who gave us the Tek-lok. I also like MOLLE locks because they're easy to install and remove, give a solid rigid platform, and hold secure. I have long tac-ties holding my water bottle holder on my Malaga and it flops around more than I'd like.

I must be old (and cheap).I use ALICE clips from the assorted pouches, covers etc I have laying around.:o

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. As always, you've answered my question and then some! Given the ambivalence toward tac ties, I'll try attaching her phone pouch with some of the extra MOLLE locks from my RATs first. I should have known the solution to my problem would lie somewhere between an RC-4 and an Izula!
