I am installing my first Max TacTie, and I have a question. When completing the final step of routing the strap end thru the buckle, I can easily feed it thru one side of the buckle and fish the tail out. If I try to route it thru both sides of the buckle there is not enough slack to retrieve the tail. Which is the correct way to do this?

Thanks, Joe

Last night I used (for the first time ever) Maxped's TacTies and following that pic it was a piece of cake

I've got a bunch of pouches attached to my pack with Tac-Ties, and a few with MALICE clips. Honestly, the Tac-Ties don't feel as secure as the MALICE clips, and my bottle holder (which is held on with Tac-Ties) wobbles a bit. :o I plan on replacing my Tac-Ties with MOLLE locks once I get the chance. :)

I used my tac tie - it was VERY tight - I ended up using persuasion and a pair of needle nose pliers.

I think if it wobbles - you didn't do it right. Mine is like it was sewn on.

Trust me--it's on there right. Maybe I just got some bade ties that were a tad long. I got them at SHOT when they first unveiled them, so maybe that's why.

After I finished attaching an Anemone to my Fatboy the impression I had was that the thing was born there. But I confess that before I finished I was a bit sceptical, that it would bob around.

I've had no problem whatsoever with the short ones. Like I said, my problematic ones are from the earliest batch of them, and are the long variety. I mostly think that a rigid backing would be helpful with my bottle holder to keep it from flopping when full. :o

soak em in hot water, stretch and pull them, let them dry stretch and pull them, install.

With the long excess material and the way it's sewn on the non-buckle end, you really only need it thru the first part of the buckle. It won't slip thru.
You can get it thru both by empting both products your joining and bunching up the pouch being attached with your hand. It'll be super-secure and very hard to remove.
I like the tac-ties alot.

 That's what I did also. If you weave them thru the webbing a certain way, and use a pliers to fully buckle, it's as if they are sewn together. No wobble ever.

I really interweave tacties between the webbing on both the acessory and the pack and by the time I'm at the end I need a pair of pliers to get the "hook" portion of the tactie through the buckle.

It is an absolute pain in the ass to remove them that way, but all my attachments are very secure with no wobble.
